Hier noch ein amerikanisches Betonschiff aus dem Ersten Weltkrieg, die "Gen. D. H. Rucker"
Der Einfachheit halber der Begleittext von Bruce Carson:
"The Gen. D. H. Rucker on the Potomac at Washington, DC with the Washington Monument visible in the background.
There were a number of concrete hulled ships built on both sides of the Atlantic for WWI service, but this is the only passenger ship of which I know.
Built at Wilmington, North Carolina, she was not completed until 1921.
Presumably an Army Transport (USAT) as she was operated by the Quartermaster Corps: information about her is difficult to come by.
900GT, 150' x 28', 3exp, twin screw.
