Beitrag von: siono am 21 Juni 2011, 17:51:11
Hello My name is Sergey. I am interested in submarine U 864 IX D2 sunk in 1945! That what I know about her she was carrying a cargo: Drawings and parts of rocket fighter Me 163 twin-engine fighter and the Me 262. Also on board were  U 864 signed contracts confirming the right of Japan to manufacture these aircraft, 1857 tanks with mercury! Please tell me the news list is loaded 864 U you ask. On board were U 864 band passengers are German and Japanese aeronautical engineers. Please tell me how many passengers on board the U 864? Their names and their position? And my second question: submarine U 234 was carrying refined uranium for Japanese nuclear bomb. Lieutenant Commander Shoji Genzo, an aircraft specialist and former naval attache. Please tell me he was in Japan since the war began? Or arrived in Germany on a submarine? Was there a purified uranium on board U 864? And were there any German submarines something that carried refined uranium to Japan at the end of the war? I hope you are interested in my topic. I look forward to your responses. With respect to you, Sergei

U 864:

Passengers:

Besides the bottles with mercury, there are suspicions that also a Me 163 in parts was on board (for U 234 had a Me 262 in parts on board).
Moreover blueprints for a "Campini aircraft", a "Caproni submarine" (for there were no aircraft or submarines carrying such names, it is likely that these were codewords for some sort of secret cargo) and Siemens Radar-blueprints for a "Satsuki submarine". This was the Japanese codeword for the German type IX U-boats.

Further were 30 containers with "treated water", i.e. presumably heavy water (Deuterium (D) - or ²H) on board. Whether there was also Uranium Oxyd on board (as on U 234) is not known.

U 234:

There were two Japanese Navy Officers on board:

On board were:

There is a book written by a crew member:  Wolfgang Hirschfeld, Das letzte Boot. Atlantik farewell (http://www.amazon.de/Das-letzte-Boot-Atlantik-Farewell/dp/380041192X)

Hello Thank you very much for your answers. Prompt please Lieutenant Commander Shoji Genzo one of the passengers U 234. As he was in Germany he was in Germany from 1939 that is before the Second World War? Or he arrived by train on the Trans-Siberian Railway from 1939 to May 1941? Or he arrives in a submarine? Japanese Second Lieutenant Commander Hideo Tomonaga arrived at the Japanese submarine I 29 in the Indian Ocean, and there transferred to a German submarine U 180. And as in Germany, arrived Lieutenant Commander Shoji Genzo? Was in Germany before the Second World War? He arrived by train from 1939 to May 1941? Or, also arrived on a submarine? I look forward to your responses. With respect to you, Sergey

Sorry, I don't know when Shoji arrived in Germany and how long he stayed here.
