Hi Urs,

I think you are right. The boat with the Ltn in Swinemünde is probebly M 60 Hecht. All details are matching with a drawing from 1939. The only thing missing on the drawing is the 2 cm gun that was probebly added when the war broke out. M 60 were probebly never rebuilt back to a Minensuchboot. She later became an R-Boot tender.

The photo with the civilan and a gun/boat in the background is not showing an M-Boot (as I thought) or Tanga. They both have round port holes that are not on the photo.
Can the black bar "camouflage" be a clue?

Hi all,

There are very few details to work with. I think it is quite a small boat. The photograper has probebly been standing on the Winkerstand on the typ S 151 boat. He has then been able to see over the mystery boat on the water behind it. The myster boat deck must then be lower than the standing photographer.
The water behind the mystery boat looks lika a harbour with two large (civilan?) houses with gardens. It could also be that the "grey area" is also water and a shadow (from the mystery boat?).
There are two pole like things set at an angel on the deck. They are also showing that we are seeing the myster boat at an angel. There is also a small "pyramid" that could be a break water plate.
I think we are seeing the front of the mystery boat. Note that white area on the water line is a part of the typ S 151 bridge and not water.
What is object 1? Could it be the anchor winch? Or, is it a part of the torpedo sight on the typ S 151 boat?
Object number 2 looks like a cat sitting on the gun barell. Could it be a search light?
The white railing makes the gun barell look strange.
Are there port holes that are just difficult to see?

Hi,

I did some more work on the mystery boat.

The camouflage looks like something on Torpedoboat (as Urs said). It is similar to T 5. Detail no 1 might also fit (two cranes?)

The gun looks strange. I can not get any good match. It looks longer than a 10,5 cm gun, more like a 12,7 cm. There are similaritys with the K Boote 12 cm as well. ????

Hallo,
in #633 heißt es:
"There was a convoy from Travemünde to Sönderborg (where the unfinished Lürssen boats were) on 3 May 1945 (~the day the British got to Lübeck). The boats were Wohnboot 4, Kümo Amstel 12, S 170 and S 226."
Besten Dank,
Deichkind
