Durfte außerhalb des Lagers wohnen. Das brachte Ihm Schwierigkeiten ein mit Attaché Niebuhr und seinem GS Vorgesetzten, Kapt. Kay. Die Amerikaner schrieben: 'At one time, he in company with three other Graf Spee sailors, complained with the Córdoba police and to the Ministerio de Relations Interiores that the German authorities were demanding too much work from them, attending meetings and doing propaganda work, and that they could not take care of their personal affairs'.(Siehe auch Rudolf Hein, Heinz Pursche u. Erich Münch) Daraufhin tauchte später sein Name in einem eingeleiteten Kriegsmarine Gerichtsverfahren in Berlin (3 April 1945) auf. Am 16 Feb 1946 mit der H. Monarch repatriert.
