Guten Abend zusammen,

Ich dank euch nochmals. 

An bei hab ich noch ein Bild mit besagtem Tarnschema gefunden.  Was ist das auf der Steuerboardseite ??
Es sieht aus wie Emblem.

Vom Siefried Treu.

Da ich ein Typ S 38 habe werde ich das nächste Boot zu einem Typ S 26 machen und um genau zu sein das S 29.

Da ist es mir wieder Passiert. Es ist natürlich Backbord.

Danke für den Hinweis.
Passiert mir auch manchmal noch.
Seih also mir nicht Böse.
Man sieht es auf der rechten seite des Bilds, was bei dem Schiff die linke Seite ist und somit Backbord.

Hi Fabi,

I think S 29 had a leaping panter (or puma?). It is very simmilar to the S 28 leopard (your other photo). Still not 100 % sure of this.

Joerns link has the full S 29, Zopot, captured Lacplesis flag story. The photo is probebly from 5 Aug 1941. (HMA)

Hallo Fabian,

I have finished my S-38 model as S-117 and I'm still working on my old S-100 model which is supposed to become S-180. Both are rc models with only two props/ drive shafts and enlarged rudders. I'm presently working on the crew figures.





Talking about S-180, were there any other S-Boote known to have been fitted with 2cm Flakvierlinge (explicitly mentioned in reports like S-180) ? The only pic that seems to exist (an S-38b type vessel) has the same mount as fitted on the schwere Kreuzer Prinz Eugen but I assume other mounts and shields would also have been fitted. Hallo Urs,

I like clean models  and because I actually use them as running models they will automatically gather dirt and dust (and sustain battle damage ....). I do indeed have to add the capital "D" to the bridge of "S-117". I will see if I can find a suitable transfer. As to the position of the crew members on the bridge I really love this pic :

Ich halte es für denkbar, daß in dieser langen Werftliegezeit alle genannten Boote mit einem Vierling ausgerüstet wurden.
Für S 180 ist es dokumentiert, für S 174 bekannt.

Vielen Dank Urs ! Do you know why it is assumed that S-174 had a Flakvierling ? There is indeed a colour illustration of S-174 with a Vierling in Dallies-Labourdette's book and I have often wondered if there is a pic or a reference somewhere I don't know about.
