Italian crew on German ships

Good morning to all,
on many Italian sources is stated that on some captured Italian ships (such as TA 24 ex Arturo, UJ 2222 ex Tuffetto, TA 36 ex Stella Polare, etc.), manned by Kriegsmarine after the Italian armistice, there was a small presence of Italian crewmemebers. As for now, I was not able to identify any Italian crewmember. Does someone know is this statement was true of if the ships were manned exclusively by German sailors?

Guten Morgen allerseits,
In vielen italienischen Quellen wird angegeben, dass auf einigen erbeuteten italienischen Schiffen (wie TA 24 ex Arturo, UJ 2222 ex Tuffetto, TA 36 ex Stella Polare usw.), die nach dem italienischen Waffenstillstand von der Kriegsmarine bemannt wurden, eine kleine Anzahl italienischer Besatzungsmitglieder anwesend war. Bis jetzt konnte ich kein italienisches Besatzungsmitglied identifizieren. Weiß jemand, ob diese Aussage zutrifft, wenn die Schiffe ausschließlich mit deutschen Matrosen bemannt waren?

Hallo,

can't help you for the Mediterranean theatre, but in the Far East served some Italian naval personnel on the seized submarines UIT-24 & 25. Also many Italian merchant sailors served after the armistice on the last German merchant vessels in Japanese charter, mainly the Havenstein, probably also on the Mosel. You can find crew lists of these vessels in the files of the German naval attache in Japan (available online BA/MA).

Hallo,

im Anhang die Crewliste des HAPAG-Dampfers Havenstein nach dessen Versenkung am Pier im Hafen von Takao (Formosa, heute Taiwan) am 12.10.44. 
Abgesehen von der deutschen Schiffsführung war die Besatzung mehrheitlich Italienisch.
