Kaiserliche Marine Wimpel

Hello,

Anyone know the origin of the attached wimpel/pennant flag? I remember already seeing this wimple in the 1970s. I understand it represents the Reichskriegsflagge eisernes Kreuz Reichsadler from Kaiserreichs in WWI which originally started out as only for the Navy - Kaiserliche Marine War Ensign before representing all Imperial Forces (Army & Navy) as the General German Imperial War Flag. Given the plastic covering on it, I take it that this is not an original wimple. Was this produced after WWI as a souvenir? Or was plastic and the red black and white piping added later to an original flag?
