Hello,
I am researching the story of the German steamer Bayern (HAPAG) which left Hamburg on July 24 1914 for Yokohama and Hankow and was interned in the Italian port of Neapel on 4 August 1914.Hidden under goods of no particular importance were found several 7,5 cm Skoda guns, machine guns and even a few aircraft. Can anyone help me to get a complete list of the cargo and its fate ? Thanks in advance.
BAYERN was layed up at Neaples on 04.08.1914 and seized by the Italians on 12.06.1915. As ALESSANDRIA it was sunk on 02.05.1917 100 nm north of Bengazi by the German submarine UC-74.
