Can anyone please help Don with this.
According to Rolf Dieter Danckworth (Leutnant zur Zee), there were two ensign trainees aboard U224 at the time of the sinking Jan 13, 1943. We are attempting to identify these ensigns so they may be added to the memorial tribute to the crew of U224: http://www.denkmalprojekt.org/U-Boote/uboote_wk2/wk2_u224.htm
Danckworth wrote for publication in this forum:
"In memoriam.... to the German submarine boat " U224" and her crew of 45 men and two ensigns, as trainees, who found their seamen graves at the depth of 800 feet near Oran, Algiers."
Unfortunately, Danckworth has no records identifying the names of these ensigns. He suggested contacting the German UBoot Archive at Cuxhaven, but they don't have email contact.
Can anyone suggest a person, or source, to identify these two ensigns?

Yes, the German UBoot Archive at Cuxhaven doesn't want to be contacted by email.
The reason is that they charge money for researches they do. A question like yours costs at least 20€:
