Hello,
According to an old book of Ufficio Storico ("Le torpediniere italiane", 2nd edition, Rome, 1974, page 307), on october, 2nd, 1940, in an undefined position in Aegean Sea, the Italian torpedo-boat LINCE met a "enemy steamer" in "damaged condition" without crew onboard, which was sunk. This is recalled, with the addition of the nationality of the steamer (Greek), in a very recent article by Enrico Cernuschi ("Dodecaneso 1940-1941, 1st part) published on Storia Militare (May 2012).
Is there any identification of that ship ?
Any help is appreciated.
Regards
Fabrizio
