Ich sehe da ein paar kleine weiße Dinge rechts im Kreis.....Skiffs? ... und warum fuhr denn die Fregatte so einen Kreis und verbrannte wertvollen Treibstoff?

DUTCH FRIGATE ESCORTS EBBA MAERSK
"The Dutch Frigate F 805 EVERTSEN escorted recently the EBBA MAERSK through the Gulf of Aden, the frigate sailed 10 May 2012 from Den Helder naval base for East Africa to serve as NATO flagship for Operation Ocean Shield for a period of 3 months. Ocean Shield aims to combat piracy in the waters of Somalia. By carrying out patrols, the navy vessels of NATO's Operation Ocean Shield improve the security of sea lanes off the Somali coast and discourage and disrupt piracy at sea in the same area. Between 20,000 and 30,000 ships pass through the Gulf of Aden each year. Pirate groups operate in an area up to almost 750 kilometres off the Somali coast.
The EVERTSEN is one of the 4 air defence and command frigates of the Zeven Provinciën class. She has extensive command control and communication and data facilities. For the current mission, the frigate is manned by a 233- strong crew, including a boarding team of the Marine Corps and a helicopter crew for the on-board Lynx. This will be the last time that this maritime helicopter takes part in the fight against pirates. From September 2012, the tasks of the Lynx will be taken over by the Cougar transport helicopter until the new NH90s are introduced."
Hmmm, würde eher sagen, dass es Wellen sind, die sich brechen...
Skiffs sind das nicht. Naja und Krieger fahren gelegentlich schon mal Manöver die auf Aussenstehende keinen Sinn machen.
Zum anderen schau mal genauer hin, die Fregatte macht quasi einen Vollkreis. d.h. sie war vorher hinter der Ebba gefahren...und da dies so ist, ist es eher unwahrscheinlich, dass sich die Piraten so nah ran trauen.

...ne Ulrich, die Fregatte bricht ihre eigenen Wellen bei ca 23 Knoten. Den Kreis schätze ich bei einer KL 8-)

Ich kann mich an einen Bericht erinnern . k.A. ob es die EVERTSEN war - wo ein Kriegsschiff solange Piratenboote mit Wellen umzingelt hat bis denen schlecht war und die aufgegeben haben. Auf dem Bild hier kann ich aber auch keine Skiffs entdecken. Naja, vielleicht sind das die letzten Luftblasen...
