How would you like to troubleshoot a small electrical problem with this panel?

This is a 360 degree panorama of the flight  engineer's station on a
Convair B-36 Peacemaker.  Six reciprocating Pratt & Whitney  R-4360's
and four General Electric J-47 turbojets to keep an eye on, plus fuel,
cabin pressurization, hydraulics, electrical, and other systems.

Tolle Technik, so richtig ein "Dampfcockpit"!

Aber was für ein zynischer Name, wohl nur aus der Zeit zu verstehen.

Dampf - steam kann man auch als Antriebskraftstation - powerplant verstehen ????  Wie in "get up the steam"  Vollgas geben.....

Das ist doch mal ein Cockpit. Da konnte man im Notfall auch noch einiges selbst reparieren. Ich geh mal davon aus, das die Besatzungsmitglieder das damals konnten.

Ja. Nach der Einführung des Airbus gab´s einige Jahre später eine Befragung der Piloten über die "Beschäftigung" im Cockpit. Einen wesentlichen prozentuellen Anteil der Zeit nahm demzufolge das "Nachdenken, warum der Bordrechner das gerade gemacht hat" ein  :wink: :-D
