I wonder if someone could explain to me what the function was of the special superstructure (especially the cross-shaped "beams") of the Type B. Today I found a pic on the internet of the Dutch ship wharf Pattje in Waterhuizen. Apparently the pic shows F 233 and F 234 under construction. What surprises me is that both vessels look identical whereas F 234 was supposed to be a Typ B Sperrbrecher ? Or was the typical B Type superstructure added at a later stage ? The info on F 234:

Thanks a lot for the info Urs ! I looked at some other photos of MFP's that were equipped with this system and it seems this "Canona Antimagnetica" was added after the delivery from the ship yards that had originally built these craft. Do you know when this system was introduced ? I found some nice pics in my archive of an unidentified Sperrbrecher and I posted them here :

Nach Prof. Dr. Rohwer (im obigen Artikel) erwarb die Kriegsmarine (Anfang) 1943 zwei Anlagen, die beim Sperrversuchskommando erfolgreich getestet wurden. Daraufhin wurde der zur Verfügung stehende Küstenfrachter
Martha (564 BRT), ein Versuchsschiff des Netzsperrverbands, in Aarhus zum CAM-Test-Sperrbrecher umgebaut und am 14.8.1943 in Dienst gestellt.

MARTHA kam am 14.08.1943 als Sperrbrecher 104 für die 3. Sperrbrecherflottille in Dienst, wurde jedoch schon am 01.09.1943 der 2. Sicherungsflottille in Swinemünde zugeteilt.
Die zweite CAM-Anlage wurde auf dem Sperrbrecher 192, ex KEPLER, zum Einsatz im Schwarzen Meer und in der Donaumündung eingebaut.
