Hallo,
Hat noch jemand hier Information über das Pio Landungsboot 41?
Das Buch von Kugler über das dt. Landungswesen habe, eine Zeichnung auch.
Daneben Fotos vom Exemplar in Dachau.
Was mich interessieren würde, wären Fotos von Booten im Einsatz, oder solche wo ich weitere Details erkennen könnte.
In voraus vielen Dank.
Grund meiner Suche ist, dass ich das Boot nachbauen will.

Hallo,
I happen to have a 1/48 drawing by John B. Tombaugh. It was drawn for Johns Hobbies with the assistance of Peter Schenk and warship international magazine. I got this drawing from an acquaintance some years ago but I don't know where he obtained it. I had a 1/35 enlargement made. This site (of a 1/6 scale build) will be most helpful, it has some good drawings and many photos of the survivor that resided in Schleissheim some years ago :

Hallo,
vielen Dank, da ich diese Woche nicht aufgepasst hatte, wäre mir die italienische Seite mit den vielen Details fast entgangen. So konnte ich ein paar wichtige Details entdecken. Toll, jetzt bin ich mit dem Zeichnen ein gutes Stück weiter gekommen.
Ich habe mal einen Screenshot meines aktuellen Standes angehängt.
Wenn es jemanden interessiert, kann ich auch mal eine Liste anhängen, was ich so an Unterschieden an den ganzen Fotos entdeckt habe.

Thomas: I only have a few period pics of a Pilabo 41 (about 10 pics of 504) and these don't show much detail. Seems as if there are not many photos of this type of vessel. I downloaded two pics (probably a type 41 but I'm not sure) from the Weitze net showing a 2cm gun (or is it perhaps a 3.7cm gun ?) on the starboard side. One of these two pics can still be found here :

Detlef: You have built a truly stunning model top. I have quite a lot of Pilabo 40 pics if you wish to add some more detail to your model. I even have a pic showing the instrument panel and the compass. A pic of the type 40 Pilabo (also Weitze net) :

Hi Arjan,
I looked at the pictures at the Weitze page. The first one shows a Pionierlandeboot 39 or 40, you see the front doors they open to the side, while the new type 41 opens like the American LCM.
The picture with the Flak is very interesting, so close I have nothing.
So if you have any other pictures, yes please send / show me them, I would be very glad.

Ich möchte mich nochmals bei Arjan bedanken.
Ihm ist es zuverdanken, dass ich jetzt noch ein paar Möglichkeiten mehr habe.
Je länger ich mir die Fotos ansehe, desto mehr komme ich zur Überzeugung, dass es das Flakgeschütz wohl auf unterschiedlichen Positionen gab.
Die meisten Fotos zeigen die Flag vorn am Bug auf Steuerbordseite.
Das Foto von Arjan sieht für mich aber so aus, als ob die Flak am Heck angebracht wäre, man kann die Erhöhung des Schanzkleides erkennen.
Das Foto mit dem LWS, auf einem Pionierlandeboot 41 zeigt auf der Backbordseite noch ein weiteres Geschütz, ich denke es könnte eine 5KWK sein. Bin aber kein Experte.

thanks for your pictures again. But now I am a bit confused as one of your pictures shows the Flak at the back and not in front of the ramp. Further the picture with the LWS shows a second gun?

Das von mir eingestellte Bild zeigt tatsächlich eine Flak am Heck. Ob es hier ein Pilabo 40 oder 41 betrifft weiss ich nicht. Time to continue in English :-). The pic of Pilabo 504 was made during an exercise in which it carried Beutepanzer Matilda "Oswald" and LWS 1071. "Oswald" had its turret removed and a 5KWK was installed instead:

In the mean time I'm sure that the Weitze pics and the pic of the Flak gun mounted at the rear of the Pilabo show 3.7cm Flak 36/37 guns and not 2cm Flak.

Ich hatte heute etwas Zeit und habe mal diverse Bücher gewälzt und sieh da, ich hab noch ein Bild gefunden.
In dem Buch Baulehr-Batalion 800 z.b.V. Brandenburg vol.I auf Seite 176 findet sich ein Bild des Pionierlandeboots 318 mit einem komplett anderem Heck. Vom Fahrerstand kann man nur erkennen, dass er nicht überdacht ist, daneben gibt es eine Holzplattform mit einer leichten Flak drauf.
Ich habe auch mit Hilfe von Arjan herausgefunden, was es mit dem 5 cm kwk Geschütz auf sich hat, das Foto zeigt einen LWS und die Matilda mit dem 5 cm kwk Turm. Also doch nur Flak auf der Steuerbordseite.

I found today another picture, it is from the book: Baulehr-Batalion 800 z.b.V. Brandenburg vol.I page 176.
It shows Pionierlandeboot 318 and it has some special details. First there is no cabin, everysting is open, secondly there is a plattform for a Flak, maybe a 2 cm Flak.
With the help from you new pictures, I could solve the question with the 5 cm kwk on the left side. There is no Flak on the left side, the boat has the Matilda on it and we only see the modified turret with the 5 cm kwk.

Thanks a lot for the confirmation RePe . The 2cm Breda gun was also popular on Pilabos (especially those of the Küstenjäger). L-318 (posted by Thomas) and L-205 (the second scan I posted) also had Bredas. Looks like a flag was tied to the barrel of the Breda on 318.

L-503 and 504 were originally equipped with 3 "beiklappbaren Sturmbootrutschen". A photo in Kugler's Landungswesen shows what these looked like:
Pics show that L-504 only had two Rutschen remaining when the exercise with LWS 1070 and Oswald took place. Later pics of 504 show that the Rutschen had been removed completely at some point.
