als Fußnote
ZitatThis was LST 364 whose sinking at the time stated is confirmed by British records

Zitatc) At dawn 3 Biber-type midget U-Boats were sunk off Westkapelle by 33rd ML.-Flotilla, and two prisoners taken. They had harmed no one.[...]
ML 901 reports sinking 1 midget submarine in position 340 Westkapelle 6 miles at 0745/22, no prisoner taken.
ML 588 has sunk 1 midget submarine in position 30 Westkapelle 5 miles at 0817/22, no prisoners reported.[...]
A third submarine was sunk at approx. same time and position by F.G. 5 patrol. C.F.M.U. 1 reports all submarines were BIBER type and two were known to by carrying torpedoes. It is thought that they were proceeding to carry out attacks on shipping in vicinity of Flushing and had been at sea twelve hours. Two prisoners and not one as reported in my 220922 were taken and are now being interrogated at Ostend.
Thomas
