Hallo,

Ich suche nach Fotos vom schiffe von die 6. Sicherungsflottille im Süden Frankreich und vor allem Minenleger M 6060 (ex Die Eparges), NT 11 (ex PRADO) et NT 43 (ex Agissante).

Ein Einsatz der "La Canebière II" für die Kriegsmarine ist mir allerdings nicht bekannt.

Hello Darius,

La Canebière II belonged to the Coastal Service and the Castle d'If. He Had been required by the french Navy in 1939 - 1940 as AD 219.

The vessel on the two pictures on the left is not the ML 6060 but the ML 6061 (ex Guepe), probably in the war.

Hello, I am curious, were these ML* boats official designations, or were they officially known only as M* boats but history fans added the "L" to suggest they were functionally minelayers rather than minesweepers? :?

The initials of the minelayers (Minenleger) were "ML" and not "M" during the war. The German archives documents refer to the initials "ML". The "M" was reserved for the appellation of the minesweepers. It is rather us who tend to remove the "L"  of the "ML" today.

ich bin jetzt auf den Minenleger GUEPE / ML 6061 im KTB Skl, 05/1943, gestossen.
