Are there any images available of this ship as she was configured in German service?

One site described her as being converted to an "anti-aircraft escort."
Vielen danke!

Hello,
Yes, the SG 18 ex Le Gladiateur had to armed as anti-aircraft by the German Navy but this work has never been completed. It was sunk in February 1944 during an air attack. Here is a picture of Le Gladiateur in 1943.

The Firma Mario Serra was charged with the salvage of STRASBOURG at the appontements 6 East of the Milhaud basin, work starting from 6.4.1943 with the dismantling of the aftermost structures (catapult, hangar, axial turrets). She was refloated on 17.7.1943 and on 8.8.1943 beached in the South-East grand dock. The same Firma was also charged with the salvage of LE GLADIATEUR in the submarine darsena: she was refloated on 30.3.1943 and delivered to the Kriegsmarine for refitting by the DIN. Sunk (capsized) at the Quai Nord Traverse Amiral on 6.2.1944 following damage during the Allied air attack of 4.2.1944. Raised in May 1947 for breaking up.
Hello Urs,
Yes, it is the Strasbourg who is alongside of Le Gladiateur.
Greetings
Adrien
Gröner, "Die deutschen Kriegsschiffe", führt SG 18 als ex-französischen Aviso Chamois. Irrt Gröner hier?
Gröner, "German Warships", mentions SG 18 as ex french Aviso Chamois. This is wrong?

Hi Thorsten,
Hello Thorsten,
No, Gröner is right. The Aviso "Chamois" became SG18 in September 1943 while it was under repair in Toulon. He was sunk in Toulon during an air attack on 24 November 1943 before being repaired (see KTB 6.Sicherungsflottille). At the moment, "Le Gladiateur" had not been renamed. "Le Gladiator" was named SG18 in January 1944.
Greetings
Adrien
@ Adrien:
Thanks for clarification. :TU:)
@ redfort:
:BangHead:
Just curious- is the KTB 6.Sicherungsflottille online somewhere?
Thanks,
Dave
I have it from 04.12.1942-15.07.1944.
What do you need?
Nothing specific, just curious of mention of some of the smaller craft.
Thanks!
Dave
