Colleagues,
Please help me find out how I died V 211/Seydlitz.
A lot of different versions and dates of flooding.
V211 Seydlitz (sunk off Barfleur by British aircraft 20/3/44).

Am 19./20.5. legt die 5. S-Flottille (Zusammensetzung wie am 12./13.4.) 10 BMC- und 12 UMB-Minen bei Start Point. Beim Rückmarsch kommt die Flottille V 210 und V 208 zu Hilfe. Die beiden Vorpostenboote unterstützen V 205 in der Nähe von Guernsey bei der Bergung von Überlebenden von V 211/Seydlitz, das durch das frei-franz. MTB 90 versenkt wurde.

Ja, da ist Einiges durcheinander  :roll:

Ziehen wir erst einmal die Standardquelle, den Gröner, DDK, Bd. 8, S, 212, zu Rate
Dort sind die Angaben für die Versenkung "20.5.44, 03:30, 49^o21' N 02^o32 W

Ich halte das für korrekt.

Begründung :
Im KTB der 5. SFltl wird für die Nacht 19./20.5. ein FT "Vorpostenboote im Gefecht mit MTB" in Quadrat BF 2699 erwähnt. Die SW-Ecke des Quadrats ist 49^o18' N 02^o30 W
Das paßt also zusammen.

Weiterhin wird ein kurzes Gefecht (!) der Schnellboote mit eigenen Vorpostenbooten zur Uhrzeit 04:17 erwähnt, Position "östl. St. Martins Point" (49^o26' N 02^o33 W").
In der englischen Buchversion der "Chronik des Seekriegs" wird das noch zutreffend mit "engagement" wiedergegeben .. also keine Hilfestellung wie in der online-Version (muß dort korrigiert werden)

Ich schließe daher, daß die anderen Versionen einen Datumsfehler
- 20.3. statt 20.5., bzw.
- 12./13.5. statt 19./20.5.
haben.

Bei

ist dementsprechend auch die eingezeichnete Versenkungsposition falsch.

Hallo zusammen,
hat jemand ein Foto vom Vorpostenboot V 211/Seydlitz?
Mein Onkel ist bei der Versenkung am 20.3.1944 gefallen.
Leider gibt es in der Familie keine Fotos zu diesem Boot.

Hallo, ich habe einen von V211. Wie posten wir ein Bild? Ich kann es nicht finden.

Das Foto zeigt keineswegs V 211 SEYDLITZ sondern V 211 FRIEDRICH BUSSE und V 212 HINRICH HEY. Außerdem wurde die Aufnahme vor Mitte Oktober 1939 gemacht. Bis dahin mußten die Nummern an den Fahrzeugen entfernt sein. Am 21. Oktober 1939 trat eine neue taktische Gliederung der 2. Vorpostenflottille in Kraft und SEYDLITZ - bis dahin V 201 - bekam die Nummer V 211.
