The English are writing
On the night of July 25, 1944, Tom Fuller with MTB/MGBs: 651, 667, and 670 had one of his most successful attacks. Pulling in close to shore at 2300 hours a small craft was sighted a mile or so away and the three boats went after it. Soon they sighted a large schooner of 400 tons plus five "E" boats and two "I" boats.

The ship, both I-boats and two E-boats they sank.
Lawrence Paterson, Schnellboote: A Complete Operational History (p.225) writes that the ship was one, "Vega" (333 t), and it was guarded only by three S-boats, of which the British only damaged S-151.
Help please find out who is writing the truth.

die Deckungsgruppe bestand aus S 156, S 151, S 155 und S 157.
Von deutscher Seite aus wurde die Teilnahme eines Zerstörers im Gefecht gemeldet
Vega wurde zuerst angegriffen und brannte aus; S 151 wurde um 01.02 und 01.05 schwer getroffen (Maschine und Oberdeckspersonal fast komplett ausgefallen)
Keine Verluste von I-Booten dokumentiert.

I-O-74, I-O-96, 2 Pionierlandungsboote, VEGA + Sicherung S-Boote. Auch in den Anlagen wird VEGA genannt.

Gibt statt VEGA an einer Stelle den Namen "Nordstern" - evtl. Tarnname?

Die VEGA (ca 400 Tonnen) finde ich weder in DDK noch in Gröner "Handelsflotten"
Es soll sich um einen Flakschoner ohne Masten handeln.
Kann Jemand etwas Genaueres beitragen?

Lawrence Paterson writes that "it was a 333-ton motorized vessel with strong anti-aircraft armament."

"Vega" was a motorsailingship of 333 tons acquired in Greece in July 1942. Since 12.43 owned by Soc. An. di Navigazione Adriatica at Venice (registered at Venice # 594).
She was lost 26.07.44 off Curzola by warcauses.
