Hallo zusammen,
schon bei den Arbeiten an der Chronik des Seekrieges 2004 bin ich am dem Fall "KITTIWAKE" dran gewesen - damals ging es um die Ursache der Beschädigung des Sloops (Mine - deutsche oder englische oder doch Torpedo).
Heute ist mit nochmal der Fall in die Finger gekommen, als ich die "British Mining Operations" in der Hand hatte.
Dort wird in dem Kontext der Auslegung der Sperren "E 1" bis "E 6" im Rahmen der Operation "GR" (Goodwins-Ruytingen, flach- und tiefstehende Minenfelder) der
16.09.1939 als Tag des Werfens der Sperren genannt.
An welchem Tag ist die KITTIWAKE auf die Mine gelaufen?1.

The commander was blown off the bridge and later rescued by a trawler. 39 crewmen were taken off by HMS Harrier, which towed the vessel to Dover.
