Hi,

Colleagues.

I am trying to establish the details of the battle at Egersund on the night of January 11/12, 1945. Please help me find reports on this battle or read them. Vincent OHara writes very briefly about this event.

Hi Cam, I'm not sure how much information you have on this even to start with, or even if we're talking about the same thing - Do you mean "Operation Spellbinder" Jan. 11 - Jan. 14?

Force 2 laid mines in the Karmsund off Utsira under cover of a smoke screen.
Force 3 provided aircover for Force 2 as well as anti-submarine operations.
After successfully attacking the convoy, Force 1 withdrew to Scapa Flow.

On the 13th, Avengers from Premier and Trumpeter laid aerial mines in Karmøysund during "Operation Gratis" and Wildcats strafed the Utsira Radar, after which Force 3 withdrew to Scapa Flow.

Thanks.
It is about this battle. I am familiar with the information on the link. It lacks data on the time of the attack of the U-boat and the number of torpedoes fired. There is also no information on the duration of the sea battle and the duration of the battle of coastal batteries with the British.
