Shipping and Mercantile Gazette - Friday 19 August 1870
Malta, Ang. 12. The El Magidi a Zanzibar screw corvette, carrying seven guns, commanded by a German, Captain C. Thomsen, arrived on the 11th instant, days from Zanzibar, via the Suez Canal. She is bound to Hamburg for repairs, but, owing to the blockade, will proceed to Falmouth for orders, calling at Gibraltar. She is provided with a safe conduct from the English and French governments. SJie will probable leave to-morrow, after filling up with coals and provisions. She brings no later news of Dr. Livingstone.
