Born: Breslau, Silesia, Prussia (Poland).
Lost as a Mechanikerobergefreiter (T).
Listed on 7 Jul 1941 as assigned to 1 UAA & ordered to report to the navy base in St. Nazaire by 14 Jul 1941 to embark on KOTA PINANG. Accused of theft of supplies, provisions, and canteen items from KOTA PINANG. The incident report and on-board trial record was delivered to the naval court in Lorient. By 30 Jul 1941 he was removed from KOTA PINANG because "the presence of the perpetrators on board would jeopardize the execution of the mission." Lost aboard U 611 in the North Atlantic Ocean, south-east of Cape Farewell when sunk by depth charges from a RAF 120 Sqn Liberator bomber.
