I would like to build a 1/35 model of an LCT(6) landing craft but so far I haven't managed to find any detailed scale drawings. Perhaps someone can help ?

Much obliged Benny! I know about the drawings at the Floating Dry Dock site and I've tried ordering them. Unfortunately, one seems to require a credit card and the shipping costs are also quite prohibitive. In one of the links you've posted a certain Michel apparently also has these drawings and I think I know who this Michel is :-) .
According to most online sources the design of the LCT(6) enabled loading vehicles from the stern which meant that a roll on roll off system could be used.The Navsource site has a lot of period pics of the LCT(6) but none seem to show an opened rear gate/ramp. Also this rear gate didn't appear to have any hinges.

Hallo Benny, that is looking very good! If it is possible I would prefer 1/35. Let me know if you have any detail questions, I have collected many photos showing most angles of the craft. It's probably best to use the width of the vessel as a starting point for measurements. According to Michel the 1/48 The Floating Dry Dock drawing shows a width of 20.4 cm (the real width should be 9,75 metres). In 1/35 this would mean a width of 27.8 cm.

Ein kleines Detail habe ich selbst entdeckt. die Befestigungöse am Bug. Ich habe aber noch nicht ganz verstanden für was sie da ist. auf jedenfall um das Schiff fest zumachen- Manchmal sind auf Bildern Stahlseil daran befestigt. nur man sieht nicht wo das Seil hingeht. Auch habe ich einbild gesehen da ist das Schiff am ufer festgemacht.

Meine erste Frage hast du bilder von der Ankerwinde hinten bzw Mittschiffs?
2. Gibt es bilder die die seitlichen Luken auf dem Deckzeigen. Am Schanzkleid zur Meerseite hin sind Deckel (Luken) in der Zeichnung dargestellt. Ich gehe mal davon aus, das da der Treibstoff oder die Ausgleichlast befand.

Die Ösen were probably especially intended for securing the LCT to an LST. As you probably know LCT(6)s were often transported by LSTs. In this pic the eyes are used to secure the LCT to the deck of the LST :

das sind sehr schöne Pläne, genau was ich brauche um eine Ordentliche Zeichnung zu erstellen.
Zu dem Bild Im Post #11.
Hier zu gibt es noch ein mehre Bild von einem LCT auf einem LST. Fand ich das es Interessant ist.
Es sieht auch etwas komisch aus, das es auch wieder cool ist.
Es muss auch eine Film geben da von. Einige Bilder die ich gefunden haben tragen Stempelzeiten.
Ich würde uns einen Modellbauplan erstellen. Den du dir aus drucken kannst. Gleichzeitig Werde ich einen Spantensatz bei jemanden Fräsen lassen, bzw ich frage mal an.
Wie Dick sollen ich die Außenhaut berechnen in 1:35?
Wir bauen Holzrümpfe auf Spantenbasis oft mit 3 bis 5mm Balsaholzleisten. So das ich ein Spanten Gerippe heute für uns erstellen werde. Ich werde danach die Ankerwinde und Ankerhalterung erstellen.

Your drawings are looking good ! I have no drawings of the rope cutter and stopper. I will try to find some closeups of these parts. Take your time I'm not in a hurry. At this moment I'm working on a 1/72 rc model of a U-Boot type IXC, more specifically U-67. This U-Boot was apparently attacked by the British Flower Class Corvette HMS Bluebell of which I built a 1/72 model many years ago.

Ich habe die Zeichnungen die du mir geschickt hast gefunden. Die stammen aus dem National Archiv der USA.
Ich habe nach diesen nun einiges angepasst und detalierter datgestellt.
Vorne im Bug bereich fehlen nun nur noch die türen und ein paar Schrauben und kleine Anpassungen für die Kette und Seilzüge. ( Türen darf ich nicht vergessen)
Im Hech bereich fehlt noch mehr auch am aufbau
Ich hätte da noch eine Frage: Hast du eine Zeichnung für die Schraube bzw Schiffspropeller?
Ich habe keine passende gefunden. Mir würde eine Ähnliche reichen. Da gibt es mehrere Bilder von der Schraube. Hast du diese?

Ich habe das tatsächlich nur gemacht, da Arjan's text über den Modellbau plan sich recht enttäuscht sich las.
Ich bin Monatn am überlegen ob ich das 3D Modell zu einem Spritzling Hersteller bringe.

soll Ja in 1:35 werden. Montan zeichne ich in 1:100, da ist die Rechnung in Zoll einfacher. und zum Schluss wird es um Facktor X vergrößert.

I bet there are quite a lot of modellers who would welcome a detailed injection molded plastic kit of an LCT(6) in 1/72 or 1/35 scale. I've got the limited run injection molded Armageddon 1/72 LCT(6) kit which is very crude, primitive and very expensive. I'm not sure though if kit producers like Das Werk would be interested in a detailed and accurate kit. Armour vehicle kits will always sell better than boat models especially in a large scale because they take up a lot of room/shelf space.
