Hi all,
The sighting of an enemy submarine by U-591 at 1407B/28 in Grid AF 7263 (which has is centre in position 63°15'N, 00°22'30") must have been HMS P 219 (renamed HMS Seraph in mid Feb. 1943).
This submarine was returning to Lerwick from patrol and at 1200B/28 was in position 63°47'N, 00°34'E.
At 1717B/28, HMS P 219, obtained a fix which showed her position as being 62°51'N, 00°00'E.
There is nothing mentioned in the patrol report, which is very brief by the way, so I also checked the logbook but nothing is mentioned there either.
Kind regards,
Brian Corijn.
