Titel: French Aviso Dédaigneuse in KM service as M 6020
Beitrag von: PT Dockyard am 02 August 2007, 04:07:44
Hello again :-D

I found a drawing of the Ardent class, of which the Dédaigneuse was a member.

http://www.warships.web4u.cz/lode.php?language=E&stat=FRA&typ=DC&trida=Ardent

She served on the 6. Sicherungsflottille as Minensuchboote M 6020.

Can anyone tell me her armament in German Service?

FR 56 is the Italian number, but I think the boat did not have a Kriegsmarine SG number (Schnelles Geleitboot) like several other FR sloops. http://www.wlb-stuttgart.de/seekrieg/schiffe/pn-ef.htm   The M 6020 makes no sense to me.  Although there is some discrepancy in name/FR number see http://www.german-navy.de/kriegsmarine/captured/escorts/sg17/index.html for probable armament.

The link on my post shows her going from the Italian Navy to the German Navy as an auxillary Minesweeper.

Groener V. 8 ( Just arrived today :O/Y) says she had 8 2cm guns and a single 10cm. I am wondering if the 10cm was mounted foreward or aft and what configuration and location the 2cm guns were (vierling, twin, single, etc.).
