P Panzerschiff was a project of Admiral Raeder in 1938-39 & was in the "Z" plan.
12 P Panzerschiffs were originaly in the Z plan. Mid 1939, German Staff decide to replace P1, P2, P3 by 3 battlecruisers O, P, Q with 6x38cm. Shortly later, the project was canceled.
P Panzerschiff is a nice design with classic 2T3x28cm, good cruiser protection & a slim 230m hull for 34kts.

I reuse the hull that I built for my personnal P design (I made her in 3D)
So, the dimensions of the hull are correct but I must change the stem & rebuilt a transom stern.
The hull to modify with Scharnhorst & Graf Spee

Sorry for the mistake

So, I does not remember the "verbotenes symbol"

Hello Jefgte,
you are a great modeler, I´m always looking forward to see your newest Pocket Battleship Design. top top top
You seem to me to be a Pocket Battleship Addict :-D :-D :-D
go on and good Luck
Thomas
Hallo Jefgte,
some years ago I also scratchbuilt Kreuzer P, in my favourite scale 1/220 (quite space consuming :MLL: :MLL: :MLL:)
The Material is Polystrol.
[img][img][img][img][img]
I just did some change in contrast to the original Design.
As you can see, i redesigned the arrangement of the catapult, as it would be probable in british and german contemporaries (Warspite, Bismarck, King George e.g:)
And now at least a Photo of the Graf Spee and the Kreuzer P.
Good Luck with your kreuzer P.
P.S.
I like the wooden Decks of your models, i´ll try to complete my next models wit such a Deck too.
Many greeting to France and a great 2008
Thomas
Thanks for your comments Oldenburger
Happy new year too you also & of course for all German Warships Fans in the Forum
:O-O: :OuuO: :O-O: :OuuO: :O-O: :OuuO:
I like your P built, Your model is about 1m length.
Personnally, I made no changement for the cata.
I note that on the design, 2 cranes near the 1st funnel are short to take Arado from the sea. I am not sur about the place or the length of the derrick. :/DK: :|

Hull update
New deck is comming to correct the transom stern rebuilt & to increase slightly the freeboard.
I add small wood thin plates, 0.5mm thick x 5mm. All are glued with wood glue, of course.

(http://img184.imageshack.us/img184/9498/1022445xv7.jpg) (http://imageshack.us)
(http://img160.imageshack.us/img160/5408/1022449mn4.jpg) (http://imageshack.us)
Before cutting the thin plates, I made a string of cyano glue all around the deck to have no damage on the thin plates during the cutting action.
(http://img184.imageshack.us/img184/3199/1022450wz5.jpg) (http://imageshack.us)
Well, no damage on the new deck.
(http://img160.imageshack.us/img160/8110/1022452ar9.jpg) (http://imageshack.us)
After much sandpapering, I drawn lines to have an uniform deck.
(http://img167.imageshack.us/img167/1286/1022453ei0.jpg) (http://imageshack.us)
The junction between the thin plates are under the second hangar.
It is now difficult to see the original 5mm thin plates

Now varnish can take place...

Salut Jef!
So, in the end, we do know now why Peter Tamm had to move from his Elbchaussee-Villa to the new museum at Speicherstadt in Hamburg: it's just the mere number of new models built by you, he has to prepare some space for :-D !
Excellent work, and really convincing proportions, congratulations!
Harold
