John Youngerman hat wieder etwas Neues. Wenn man sich in Ruhe Johns gesamte Flotten ansieht, verliert man den Verstand. Ich habe nur Johns "ausser Dienst" gesetzten ca. 20 Modelle in meiner Sammlung, u.a. sein erstes Modell von Anno-X, die HMS Hood. Die Modelle sind aus Balsaholz und allen möglichen Teilchen, die man in einer Bar oder am Strand in Kalifornien finden kann z.B. Martini-Quirlsticks und andere Cocktailquirl.
PS: Einige Modelle sind manchmal im Angebot bei John.............. :MZ: Aber der Massstab is 1:1200 anstatt 1:1250.

John Youngerman hatte endlich wieder Zeit etwas für sich selbst zu bauen. (Er baute Urmodelle für andere Hersteller und Sonderaufträge von Sammlern) Es fing mit der South Dakota BB 57 for ein paar Jahren an. Nun wollte er noch eins dieser Klasse bauen, aber entschied sich alle drei auf einmal zu basteln um die Klasse vollständig zu machen. Also: 9 16 inch Türme, 27 verjüngte Rohre, 30 5"/38 Doppellafetten mit 60 Rohren, 30-40 40 mm Vierlinge........siehe seine eigene Beschreibung unten.

"Hello to all--
It's an intriguing subject line, right? Well, I left out the word "model", which clarifies it a bit. Some years ago, I made USS South Dakota BB57, and did not continue with the class. A few weeks ago, I decided to make USS Alabama BB60, using references I have. That was O.K., but then came the giant step--I decided to make Alabama, Indiana, and Massachusetts concurrently. What a job! Three hulls and superstructures (close, but NOT identical), nine 16" turrets, 27 tapered 16" gun barrels, 30 5"/38 twin turrets, 60 gun barrels, 30-40 or so 40mm quad mounts with shield, countless 20mm singles, 6 PE catapults, three PE A/C cranes, 2 PE boat cranes, several Kingfishers, lots of PE radars. I was, frankly, overwhelmed at times, but at last all came out O.K. And while I was doing that, I updated my USS South Dakota slightly.
South Dakota is in Ms. 21, Indiana is in Ms. 32/11d, Massachusetts is in Ms. 22, Alabama is in Ms. 12R. Covers pretty much the whole war in camouflage. You can find photos on my website "www.miniaturemodeling.com" in the USA WW2 Battleships gallery, pages 4 and 5.
