Hallo Patrick!
Helfen kann ich Dir nicht solange Du keine konkreteren Fragen hast.
Aber vielleicht kannst Du für unsere HMA-Crewlisten noch einige Informationen über Deinen Großvater zur Verfügung stellen:

Hi, I'm marine interested and have found this great forum.

I have sailed Torpedo Boot in the Danish navy from 1979-1987, and has retained my fascination of Torpedo Boats.
Unfortunately, I am not good at German, so "google translate" is my friend. Hope you can forgive.

I will upload some postcard with Falke.

Best regards
Lars Herbst

Did you sail on a Willemoes ?

Hi, Urs

Willemoes-class : Bredal, Krieger, and Sehested.
Søløven-class : Søbjørnen.

A great time!
Are you interest in WILM ?

Are you interest in WILM ?
no, not really, my interest is focused on German E-boats (Schnellboote) in WW II

But I was a (German) FPB-Driver myself from 1974 to 1981 and, again, from 1985 to 1990, and I remember that the Willemoes' crew quarters were much more comfortable than our own.

greetings, Urs

Hi Urs.

You must have many exciting years in the German FPB Squadron. Perhaps we sailed a BOLD GAME simultaneously. Who knows!

Yes, it was luxury to come from Søløven-class to WILM-class with bath and bed. At that time, WILM considered very modern.

Looking forward to reading a lot of maritime facts in this forum.

Best regards

Some larger boats in a tough time
Yes, but not yet, for that picture was taken in peace-time, IMO even before the "Third Reich" ..

greetings, Urs
