Im KTB der 6. R-Flottille findet sich folgender Eintrag:
18.-24.11.1942 - R15 übernimmt [in Ras el Ali] Geleit für MFP F 545, F 546, 1 S-Fähre, 2 L-Fähren nach Tripolis, (..) bei Ras Lanuf geankert, weiter nach Buerat el Hsum, dort MFP F 360 aufgenommen, (...) danach U-Boot Alarm, aufgetauchtes U-Boot wird beschossen und taucht ab, Treffer im Turm beobachtet, an Tauchstelle WaBo geworfen, kein Ergebnis.

Meine Frage ist:
An welchem Tag wurde auf welches Unterseeboot geschossen?
HMS UNITED meldet keinen Treffer im Turm, ebensowenig HMS SAFARI. Kommt ein Beschuss auf das italienische U-Boot SANTAROSA in Frage?

Hello Thomas,

HMS P.44 (later renamed United) was the submarine involved. See attached extract from her patrol report (ADM199/1226). She was not hit by the gunfire from R 15 and reported five depth charges "fairly close".
