Hello to everybody,

I will post some photos for identification, mainly but no all are German merchant ships in Mediterranean sea. Are all watermarked, if somebody would like to have a copy please send me a personal message.

Best regards

hi,

# 3 looks very much like a "-fels" ship, but there was more than one in the Med ..

greetings, Urs

Hello and thanks for the suggestion, as far I remember Ankara wore also a different camouflage, cannot be a sister shis? or ANKARA had 2 different camouflage scheme?

kgvm

I know two other camouflage schemes for "Ankara", and there were no sisterships in the Mediterranean during the war.
More difficult is the first picture. Judging by the form of the bow a ship built in the thirties, but I haven't found a ship wearing this camouflage, and otherwise there isn't much to identify the vessel.

Iceman

Very good so Bild 3 is ANKARA for sure, I attached also Bild13 that I  can suppose is also ANKARA with a different camouflage.....

About the othr ship where it can be seen only the bow I know is difficolt......anyway I have new quests!!!!

Bild 13 isn't the "Ankara", but (now Urs would be correct) a vessel of the DDG Hansa, very probably "Kybfels", I believe to see a long forecastle.
Bild 8, where the long forecastle is clearly visible, shows the same vessel.

Just realised, it may as well be the "Reichenfels", which - while built with short forecastle - later got a long forecastle, too.

Meiner Meinung nach ist sowohl auf Bild 13, als auch auf Bild 8 die REICHENFELS zu sehen.

Looks like REICHENFELS got alot of camouflage schemes!!

Peter K.

Bild.jpg zeigt auf jeden Fall ein deutsches Schiff 1941 im Mittelmeer, welches ist mir allerdings noch unklar!

Bild9 might be the "Hans Arp".
I don't have a picture to compare, but she had a welldeck.

Iceman

If she is really HANS ARP...wow, I don't know so many pict of her....and also with that camouflage, thanks kgvm
