Commander Task Force Twenty-Four [U.S. NAVAL ADMINISTRATION IN WORLD WAR II]
This narrative traces the wartime history of Task Force 24, which was the Support Force, Atlantic Fleet. The Support Force was established before the United States entered World War II in order to free the British from the primary responsibility for escort and protection of convoys between Great Britain and North America. The force continued to exercise this function after December 1941.
