Hi,

Colleagues,

There is such information about the fight between the English and German boats in the Adriatic Sea on the night of July 23/24, 1944.

On 24.07.1944 the boats of the 7. SFltl escorted a convoy. When the S-boats pushed away the British MTBs, the MTBs fired torpedoes on the German S-boats. In avoiding the torpedoes "S 155" rammed "S 154". During a gun battle "MTB 372" took hits, explosions and smoke development were to be observed. The boat was later sunk by British fighterbombers. "S 154" had to be declared out of action .

Help please find out the details of the battle - which convoy was guarded by the Germans, which schnellboats participated in the battle and when it happened.

Hi,

Colleagues,
Tell me please, at what moment of the battle did you encounter, evading torpedoes, S-155 and S-154 - before the Germans damaged MTB-372 or after that?

Reynolds and Cooper ("Mediterranean, p.125) do not tell anything about a collision between German E-Boats. Following their narrative, a mixed group of 297 (Woods), 372 (Golding) of the 20th, and 81 (Lassen) from the 24th flotilla attacked a convoy of 5 E-Boats escorting several supply vessels off Korcula.
The first (!) return salvo hit 372 in the engine room, and she stopped in her tracks. 81 in close station could not avoid her, and collided with her port quarter. Nevertheless, 81 went alongside and took off 372's crew.

This is written Lawrence Paterson, Schnellboote: A Complete Operational History (р.225).

Here's another
