Hello,
I saw the DB Projecte page about TENEDOS, the picture with the camouflaged ship with number 12V7 seems to be more similar to MILOS than to TENEDOS.......

What do you think? there is an mistakes?

Yes, it resembles UJ2107. ex-TENEDOS UJ2106 looks very different.

So maybe we can think that MILOS was 12V7......

Hello everybody.

Obviously, there are suspicious similarities between12-V-7 and UJ-2107 (ex MILOS). An additional indication is also the fact that Oblt.z.S. Johann Kampen was the commander of 12-V-7 and UJ-2107, while the commander of UJ-2106 (ex TENEDOS) in summer 1942 was Lt.z.S. Gero Kleiner.
Nevertheless, this case needs further examination to find out why Erich Gröner mentions TENEDOS as 12-V-7 and MILOS as 13-V-3 (s. Attachment).

Yes indeed, 12-V-7 was the Greek passenger steamer MILOS and not TENEDOS.

Erich Gröner is IMHO mistaken in his book "Die deutschen Kriegsschiffe 1815-1945, Band 8/2" (not only in this case).

The ship list in WLB-Stuttgart has also to be corrected: http://www.wlb-stuttgart.de/seekrieg/km/hsfl.htm

The information I found in KTB 21. UJ-Flottille, KTB 12. Küstensicherungsflottille and KTB Admiral Ägäis could provide the required argumentation for this case:

On 03.01.1942 the submarine chasers 12-V-4, 12-V-6 and 12-V-7, of the 12. Küstensicherungsflottille, were have been handed over to Ubootjägerflottille Ägäis (later on 21. UJ-Flottille). They were the first three vessels of the newly founded Ubootjägerflottille.

According to KTB Admiral Ägäis (27.04.1942) the first two mentioned vessels changed their identification code from 12-V-6 to UJ-2102 and from 12-V-4 to UJ-2104.
On 23.01.1942 two more vessels were added to the flotilla, 12-V-1 (commander Oblt.z.S. Vollheim) and 12-V-3 (commander Lt.z.S. Walther). Until 28.02.1942 the submarine chasers in service were:

12-V-1 (Oblt.z.S. Vollheim)
12-V-3 (Lt.z.S. Walther)
12-V-4 (Lt.z.S. von Ruckteschell)
12-V-6 (Oblt.z.S. Thomsen)
12-V-7 (Lt.z.S. Kampen)

Although the KTB 21. U-Jägerflottille from 01.03.-15.05.1942 has not been identified yet, only the mentioned vessels were in service on 16.05.1942 as the KTB of the flotilla informs:

UJ-2101 (Oblt.z.S. Vollheim)
UJ-2102 (Oblt.z.S. Thomsen)
UJ-2103 (Lt.z.S. Walther)
UJ-2104 (Lt.z.S. von Ruckteschell)
UJ-2107 (Lt.z.S. Kampen)

In summery it can be said, therefore, that:

STRYMON -> 12-V-1 -> UJ-2101 (Oblt.z.S. Vollheim)
BRIGITTE -> 12-V-6 -> UJ-2102 (Oblt.z.S. Thomsen)
PARALOS -> 12-V-3 -> UJ-2103 (Lt.z.S. Walther)
KOS XXIII -> 12-V-4 -> UJ-2104 (Lt.z.S. von Ruckteschell)
MILOS -> 12-V-7 -> UJ-2107 (Lt.z.S. Kampen)

I thank you very much Marco for pointed out the discrepancy.

Best regards
DG
