Hello
Another photo from operation Weserübung. This one taken at Granvin/Eide early in the morning 25.04. Soldiers going from Kong Olaf on to the s-boats before the attack at Eide.
3 S-boats, one if not two painted darker. (photo own collection)
regards

Hi PS,

The new Granvin/Eide photo is very interesting. It shows again S 21 (or possibly S 19) along side D/S Kong Olaf and the boat with the high air intakes. I have always been convinced it is S 24 but this photo makes it S 25. Note also the Halbflottille flag (Birnbach was leading from S 25 on 25 April?)

The boat with "Box" ventilators is then S 24 and not S 25 as I have believed before. The photos shows S 24 and S 22 unloading troops from a cruiser (Köln?) on 9 April in Bergen.

Thank you for your help identify the boats. Im sorry, but i might get it wrong ?

Hi,

I guess I could have been a bit clearer.
The Eide photos shows S 21 and S 25 along side Kong Olaf with a "Micky Mouse" ventilator boat (S 22 or S 23) in the back ground.
Note the extra big rubber boat on S 25. It was probably brought for the motorcycle(s) that was also loaded on the Sboote.

The Bergen photo shows S 24 with "Box ventilators". It looks like there is a Wappen on the side. It could be similar to the Wuppermann "W" on S 21 (my post # 28). It would then be a "D" for Detlefsen S 24.

(there is still a small risk that S 21 is actually S 19 but all my other photos in that album speaks against it)

Hi,

Both S 24 and S 22 are white on the 9th April photo. The grey "Mikey Mouse" ventilator boat must then be S 23 if we assume that S 22 was not repainted in Norway.

Nein, Tender Rhein (Kommandantenplanstelle : Korvettenkapitän) wurde im November 1961 in Dienst gestellt, da war B. schon lange Kapitän zur See und Kommandeur der Schnellbootflottille.

Hi,

I found another photo of S 21 with the "W" Wappen. It is the same boat as in my post # 28, photo Norge 5a. It also confirms the "W" boat with "Mushroom" ventilators that fits with S 21.

Have I got the signal flags right?
What does it mean? I will try to check in my Signalbuch.
