Hi All,

This was convoy SL 132 which had departed Freetown the previous day.
U-333 was driven off by the British destroyer HMS Keppel and the French corvette Aconit.
HMS Keppel, which Commanding Officer was the Senior Officer of the escort, rejoined the convoy fairly quickly. The Aconit was ordered to remain in the area until 0830Z/30 to hunt the enemy submarine but did not obtain contact with the enemy.

Kind regards,
Brian Corijn

Thank you Brian for sharing this information. Much appreciated!  :TU:)
The info is being inserted into DUIKBOOT.

As an - unnecessary - addition: the Admiralty War Diary for 30/06/43 (page 1073) also mentions the hunt by HMS KEPPEL and FF ACONIT for a u-boat near SL.132 (09°40'N 16°49'W = ET2187).

Met vriendelijke groeten,
Walter

A corvette (small warship), operated by Free French naval forces. After the initial engagement, Aconit was ordered to remain in the area until 0830Z on the 30th (likely 30th of the month), to hunt for the enemy submarine (U-333). However, the submarine was not located again, and no further contact was made.
