Gents,

Does anyone have any definitive names and timeline of the above ship? Trawling the internet says:

Schnelles Geleitboot "SG 3 Jupiter" - ex frz. "Sans Pereil"
Schnelles Geleitboot "SG 4 Saturn" - ex frz. "Sans Pereil"
Schnelles Geleitboot "SG 4 Merkur" - ex frz. "Sans Peur"

Erich Gröner states:

Named Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus Merkur; 1942 the order was changed Merkur, Uranus, Jupiter, Saturn:

SG 1 ex Sans Peur
SG 2 ex Sans Reproche
SG 3 ex Sans Souci
SG 4 ex Sans Pareil

Also any idea who the Schiff Kmdt. was?

FP Nr. M 50237 -  6. Vorposten-Flottille SG 4.

Sie dürfen diesen Dateianhang nicht ansehen.

Thanks in advance!
Ian

Another fan of these ships! I am delighted!
Thanks TW for the KTB of the 6.Vorpostenflotille!:MG:
Would you be having the previous KTB of 1942 and 1943 and also the KTBs of the 4.Vorpostenflotille? That would be of a great help, I try to work on these ships too!!

maxim

Are plans of these ships available? Either as German SG or as French aviso postwar?

Paloupalou

I found some KTB on NARA thanks to Thomas. Number 3713 to 3716. Do I have it all?
Concerning the plans I don't know. I am not sure that there was any Atlas de coque created for these ships as they weren't finish before the armistice.
Maybe the navy yards at Saint Nazaire kept some stuff.

Hi Paloupalou
You should download and consult NARA GUIDE No.4:
https://www.forum-marinearchiv.de/ablage/nara/Guide_No_4_Records_of_German_Navy_Operational_Commands_in_World_War_II.pdf
Vorpostenflotillen beginning on page 72
Best regards, Thomas

P.S. You have only to insert ROLL NUMBER on two places in the NARA address, instead of xxxx:

Hallo,
in a French collection exist a photo just after the war with the following painting aft - SANS SOUCI (SG 4), in a second forward motive with parts of the bridgefront is the antenna of SUMATRA-FuMB good visible. The next identification details is a small derrick under the starport bridge nock. Both is vissible in wartime on SG 4.
The question is not complete answered - SG 4 = SANS SOUCI or SANS PAREIL ... - REINHARD
