Hubertus

I am seeking information regarding my grandfather, Heinrich Gippert, born on October 16, 1920. He served aboard a German submarine (U-boat) during the Second World War and was stationed at the Lorient-Keroman U-boat base in France between 1941 and 1943.
According to family information, he may have served on the U-126—which was sunk in the Bay of Biscay—a detail that serves as an important lead in my research. It is believed he worked in the engine room and did not take part in the submarine's final patrol in March 1943. The U-126 was subsequently sunk, but my grandfather was not on board at the time; he survived, only to be sent to the Eastern Front.
Unfortunately, I have been unable to locate any official documentation confirming his assignment to the U-126. Could you please check whether the name Heinrich Gippert appears on any crew lists or other records pertaining to the U-126, specifically for the period between 1941 and 1943? Any information that might help me determine which submarine he served on would be invaluable. Despite searching through online archives and the crew lists I have been able to access, I have found no trace of my grandfather, Heinrich Gippert. Could you suggest any other archives or historical sources I might consult to establish which submarine he served on? Thank you very much for the time you are willing to dedicate to my request and for your assistance.

Dank Herb.

Als Marineangehöriger ? ...
