Vor lange Zeit habe ich ein Foto ersteigert, dass einen Frachter bzw. Leichter und zwar den griechischen Frachter GEORGIOS Piräus 1508 (Besitz Gialerakis), im Hafen von Stylis während der deutschen Besatzung zeigt (s. Anhang). Das Foto entstand vermutlich im Jahr 1942. Weißt jemand etwas mehr darüber? Ist jemandem der Frachter GEORGIOS 1508 in den deutschen KTBs begegnet?

GEORGIOS was a barge. She was one of the many vessels auctioned by the British Naval Base in Mudros after the end of WWI. One of her two initial owners was Minas Pneumatikos who acquired barges, motor ships, caiques and other equipment auctioned in Mudros.
The ship was later sold to renowned (in Piraeus cycles) Alkiviades Bravakos, a scrap merchant who acquired the rights to several shipwrecks before and after WWII.
GEORGIOS was later owned by "Chalyps" Cement Company and in 1940 she came under the ownership of Nikos Gialerakis, a mercant marine Captain who owned several barges like MARIGOULA G., STYLIANOS G., KATINA G. that were former X-Lighters. GEORGIOS could also be a former X-Lighter but her tonnage (174 grt) is somewhat above the grt that those former landing crafts had.
The barge GEORGIOS survived the war.
