Schaarf, Friedrich. 7. Division. Graf Spee: MaschOGfr. Cédula 593. Geb: Jan 6 1916, Stelberg Nordrhein-Westfalen. Wurde 1940 in Cordoba interniert. Lebte zuerst im Deutschen Ferienheim bei Rumipal, Córdoba, dann Villa Calamuchita. Am 26. Jan 1946 geflüchtet und nicht repatriiert. Blieb in Argentinien versteckt. (Quelle: Carlos Benemann, NARA)

HUBERTUS: Perhaps name may have to be changed from Schaaf to SCHAARF.
Reason: Although all Argentine Documents refer to him as Schaaf (Including the Prontuarios, the Nómina and Escape report 2nd notice), the first recorded entry on disembarkation was Schaarf. The American report of Jan 13 1944 presented by their Legal Attaché in Buenos Aires and forwarded to the assistant Sec. of State to J. Edgar Hoover on Feb 27 1944 states his name is Friedrich Schaarf, aka Friedrich Schaaf. The German enlistment records may clarify this. I'm provisionally sticking with Schaarf until this question has been properly documented. It should be noted that a Federico Schaaf (relative with same name?) lived in Córdoba and is registered in Argentina.
