Happy Friday to all,

the target of the attack by HMS SERAPH seems to be Fracht-Peniche FRANKFURT which was sunk on September 10th 1943 near Piombino from the artillery fire from enemy submarine.
The second Prahm MECHTHILDE was damaged and was beached and blown up.

thanks for this very interesting piece of information.

In the documents posted above one can read:

Der ungefähre Ort des Schiffsunterganges ist:
    11.43 östl. Länge    42.48 nördl. Breite

This is obviously incorrect (Tippfehler ?) as this position is well inland. I suspect it should be:

    10.43 östl. Länge    42.48 nördl. Breite
