Hi All,

The failed torpedo attack on Bulgaria (and / or Drache) by HMS Unrivalled on 8 October 1943 was to the south-west of Serifos Island in position 37°04'N, 24°22'30"E.

There is indeed no position noted in the patrol report, which is odd. Besides that the logbooks of HMS P 45 / Unrivalled for the period October 1942 to November 1943 have not survived to this day (unless they are stored somewhere else without public access like the Naval Historical Branch but I don't expect so).

However, file ADM 199/1916, Monthly reports of the 1st Submarine Flotilla, does holds tables of attacks of the Flotilla also including one for the month of October 1943. This table gives the position I have given above.
