Tirpitz museum Alta

Ciao all,

maybe some of you  will go in vacation in Norway on the next days.

Anyhow,  I am sure many of you knows that on June 5th, 2005 the TIRPITZ  MUSEUM ALTA has been opened  ( with Tirpitz survivors and one from X-Craft crew presence .

It is in KaaFjord  ( Alta ) close were Tirpitz was anchored.

Last thing not so important but that can be interesting is that the Museum has all my 14 models of KM battleships  including 3 Tirpitz models with Rosselsprung, Sizilien and the last camo schemes.

If you go there do not miss it,   many fantastic photos and  original material and very nice people too.

Thanks for the welcome

Unfortunately my dear friend Even ( the Tirpitz Museum owner ) has not  created a website yet but I know it is one of his future initiative.

He is so busy so far with the  launching of the Museum that I assume it will take a while ( he has also a real work to manage on ).

I have some photos myself taken during the opening so if you want to see them just write me a personal e-mail and I will  send them to you.

Otherwise we can ask the webmaster here to give us some space and post them for everybody benefit,  I am sure Even will like it and he will be honored as well as the Tirpitz and X-Craft survivor that were with us on this very emotional day ( as all the local newspapers there had photos and articles too ).

Of course I will be honored to allow also the photo of my models as well, no problems.

I am a bit embarassed now, to see 3 of my models  here.

Thanks to the guy that has provided the photos to you Wilfried, I  suppose we can see him as well on one photo  

As you can see those are Bismarck during Rheinubung, Tirpitz on Sizilien and Scharnhorst last camo.

On the museum there are other 11 models for a total of 14, with all the major 10  Kriegsmarine capital ships :

Bismarck 1 model  ( Rheinubung )
Tirpitz 3 models ( Rosselsprung, Sizilien and last camo )
Scharnhorst 1 model ( Sizilien-Ostfront )
Gneisenau 1 model ( Juno )
Graf Spee 1 model ( Montevideo  with correct grey camo )
Scheer 1 model ( Rosselsprung )
Lutzow 2 models ( Regenbogen and Husar )
Hipper 1 model ( Rosselsprung )
Blucher 1 model ( Weserubung )
Prinz Eugen 2 models ( Rheinubung and Sportpalast )

but you can see also many unpublished photos  of Scharnhorst and Tirpitz,  many  remains of the ship and recently also one of the anchors used to hang  Tirpitz to LongStraumneset  peninsula ( last KaaFjord anchorage )  as this was a discovery me and Even made togheter last year ( the anchor was almost totally buried in concrete and looked like a piece of  chain from a superficial view ).

The anchor now has been  taken out from the ground and it is close to the museum entrance.
       
So if you go in Alta, do not miss the museum, it is well organized and you can have a light meal too, people is very good and warm.

They are friends and they love the Tirpitz , ...  like me  

So visiting the museum will be supporting his improvements  which will help preserving KM ships and Tirpizt history.

Li fotografie piú interessante (per me, soltanto?) sono li queste dovvé si vede -passo per passo- la tua metoda di construzione!
Fai sempre così,  pingendo il legno del deck dopo avver´amontati tutti le pezzolini di PE?
Sarebbe molto interessante, si tu potrei posteggiare anché altre fotografie sulla construzione delle tue modelle aquí.

Si faccio sempre cosi' prima dipingo lo scafo e poi lo finisco con i dettagli e lo coloro.
YES. I always proceed like that, first the hull fully painted, than teh upperworks with details  ( P.E. ) and last the colours.

Habe meinen norwegischen Freund gebeten, die mal anzuschreiben. Ich fand es doof als D da besserwisserisch zu sein. Aber er schrieb folgendes:

Kom tilfeldigvis over hjemmesidene deres i dag, og må si jeg er imponert - flott!
Men jeg fant en liten feil: Dere skriver at Tirpitz var "verdens største slagskip i 1944" - men dette stemmer vel ikke helt?
Både Iowa-klassen, Yamoto og Musashi var vel litt større? Tipper dere mener "tyskernes største slagskip i 1944". Fint om dere sjekker dette og eventuelt retter opp sidene.
